Gone So Soon

this entry is for my former colleague Khendz who passed away last July 13 after giving birth to his second son. I haven't gone to her wake and I'm not sure if I can make it because my newborn son is EBF (Exclusively Breastfeeding) and it will not be a good decision if I bring my Little One to the wake, specially now that the weather is unpredictable.

I met Khendz, 8yrs ago on the first company I am working with. she was my chill-rock-n-roll type of batch mate, we stayed in the same account for almost 4yrs then it was dissolve and we were transferred to different accounts after that. we never got a chance to be a close buddies but there were times that I joined her outdoor activities. she was the one also who inspired me to continue to travel, travel without splurging a lot and at least try things once in your life. I got a navel piercing and tattoo as well, but I can never beat her.

Life is like a tree, you will start as a seed. then you will grow, you will encounter different kinds of weather, there are rainy days where your character will be tested, there's are days that you will basked under the sun as you enjoy your life's victories. but inspite these changing seasons, you will stood your ground as you stood your principles, the values that you believe in. And just like a tree you change as you continue to grow.  you will remain the shelter of others, you will nourish the little ones, you will become someone's protector and comfort. and then one day your life stops. but it never ends their, you have a tiny seeds which you let the wind scatter on earth. and these seeds will be your legacy and your love will continue to grow in them. And then a cycle goes on.

Khendz this poem from one of my fave poet Khalil Gibran is for you:

for what is to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
and what is it to cease breathing but to face the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God's encumbered
only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing,
and when you have reached the mountain top then you shall begin to climb,
and when the earth shall claim your limbs, then you shall truly dance.

so long Khendz, till we meet again.
