Argus Invades Baguio
Last weekend during the Pope's visit here in the Philippines. My team decided to push through with the unplanned Team Building in Baguio. I was a bit undecided if I can join because I was not sure if Argus Lolo and Mamita would allow him to travel that far because he is just 6months old and I can't leave Argus because he still breastfeeds with me and we no longer have the stash in the fridge (isang kahig, isang tuka na ang peg namin because he drinks a lot). My weekend is exclusively dedicated for my son, our bonding and playtime. But last 2minutes decisions were made and he was allowed to go with me. So we packed our things and here we go Baguio! Thank you to my team for letting Argus join the Team Building and to his Lolo and Mamita for allowing him to join.
This is a great start for me and my son especially, to travel together. The gift of travelling is one of the things I wanted to nurture to Argus. When you travel you get to know a lot of people, learn new things about their life, culture and their differences yet somehow manage to live in harmony together, albeit in a short while. When you travel it's like going out of your comfort zone and discovering your self more. When you travel you get to know more of God and experience His majestic wisdom and His generous and abundant love for everyone. And through travelling I plan to teach life to my son. It might sound unconventional way of raising a child but I want Argus to collect intangible things like memories, experiences, friendships rather than materials things which will not lasts. And he may wander anywhere without splurging a lot.

Argus My Son,
Nanay is so happy seeing you growing up so fast, healthy, happy, very curious and loves to explore things. You always amaze me and bliss is not enough to describe when I see the twinkle in your eyes every time you gaze on a certain things and the joy of your toothless smile whenever something amuses you. I want you to enjoy all of the things the world has to offer, but be cautious as well for the world is filled of pretender. But don't let these things stop you from exploring. Always choose to be yourself, be happy, be an adventurer, respect people's differences, share, be always grateful that's the source of happiness, be brave, collect memories, experiences and remember that God loves you so much, more than i do and that's why He wants you to enjoy all of these gifts.
And anak, when you start wandering please don't forget to call or text Nanay, let me know where are you going and kung kelan ka uuwi (Nay, next year na ko uuwi andito ako sa ______, text text na lang ) so I will not worry, ok?
Love,
Nanay
